watching a group of artists lamenting the numerous ban waves hitting tons of artists unfairly on the musk zone, whining that there's nowhere else to go, then listing off every platform they shouldn't use while also calling the good options "unviable" and conveniently not mentioning a single part of the fediverse.

I'm going to have an aneurysm.

what will it take? a billion users? because having a massive userbase sure doesn't help the 90%+ of artists out there who only ever see enough engagement to count on their fingers. an engagement-first algorithm? because that sure solves the problem.

it can't just be that signing up is too hard. it can't just be that people misunderstand the platform fundamentally. it can't just be that nobody is even willing to look at fedi.tips. I have too much respect for these people to believe they haven't figured these things out, not just because they've had plenty of opportunities, but because I've personally helped them with that more than once.

the virtues and advantages of the fediverse don't even matter at this point, evidently extremely few care, but I cannot fathom the thought process that considers a hostile anti-human barely functional far right nightmare website the better choice over anything else. oh, but go ahead and jump on every hot new startup platform that nobody knows anything about that definitely will be a hit with no downsides.

what will it take?

I would love to educate people on this subject, to sell the platform and get people interested, maybe even excited, but it's clear that nobody is listening. even the handful of people I did successfully get to use the fediverse for a while have all left and willingly returned to the nightmare. even the people who told me that they were desperate to leave that place, the people who complained to me that nobody else was moving.

So turns out ASUS' "Armory Crate" software is the reason why my computer has hard crashed for the past couple of months on the daily.

So if you have an ASUS mobo or PC... Uninstall that shit lol (btw apparently just uninstalling the normal way isn't enough, ASUS basically admits Armory Crate is malware by offering an "Uninstall Tool" on their website). GG ASUS.

i hate extendscript (it's literally based on ES3 javascript) so fucking much but i did more stuff to my code and AFX template yayyy
