I have no doubt that Paul Krugman is knowingly and deliberately making a straw man here.
In his role as protector of the hegemony, I'm also fairly certain Krugman will not engage with any of the #degrowth research in Hickel's replies.
It's just mind-boggling to me to see these brilliant people proudly showcase their intellectual dishonesty.

This is an urgent global disaster and it needs so much more attention than it has received so far.

@pixelherodev @kev Indeed, it's very easy to get distracted and veer off course by focusing on the "selling" part of writing.
However for me as an activist I can't be good at it if I don't reach people. Activism is politics, about convincing people and building momentum. If I stay true to what I want to fight for, by tweaking the packaging based on what has reach, I can be more impactful in what I do.
Rhetorics is not the most important part, but it should not be be overlooked either.
@kev I thought about this a lot too, and ended up with recording a count of daily HTTP GET 200 responses.
I appreciate cutting the stats completely, but at least initially I think knowing what kind of text gets more views than others is useful info for my writing, and am unsure if direct engagement is as good. (I also hope I can avoid looking at the metrics too frequently.)

I'm just so disappointed that the new (VC-funded?) startup from hypercore protocol developers openly endorses bitcoins.
IIUC nothing cryptocurrency-specific should affect hypercore, but this does make me question if I should be involved with the P2P protocol either.
