@BrentToderian @davidzipper the DOT needs to change their classification system and the IRS needs to change its "company vehicle" policy.

Co-founder of “Food Not Bombs” Global, Arrested today

"Keith McHenry, the co-founder of the global movement “Food Not Bombs” was arrested and jailed by the Santa Cruz Police Department today for the crime of serving food to the unhoused community members. Approximately 10 officers of the Santa Cruz Police Department arrested Keith at approximately 10:00 am today, December 27, 2022, in River Street Parking Garage #10, 24 River Street, as he was setting up tables to serve a meal out of the intense rain.

This egregious treatment of this community hero comes just two days after Food Not Bombs served a free Christmas feast to over 500 unhoused persons in downtown Santa Cruz. Keith is being held at Santa Cruz County Jail facing two misdemeanor charges of blocking a parking space and loitering in a parking garage. The police also confiscated some equipment belonging to Food Not Bombs including tables, cups for coffee and sugar."

The challenge is having a full stack of netbox, Ansible, and containerlab. I had pieces in vagrant, others in WSL2 or podman, etc etc. Might just have to put it all inside a single Vagrant machine

Trying to use containerlab on windows is not fun. Spent most of today trying all different combinations of cygwin, wsl2, vagrant, cmd to get something working :(

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

The City making restaurants, bars, etc. remove their streeteries is so disappointing. They should be allowed by right, provided w/ specific safety codes, & violations dealt w/ as necessary— instead we have the inverse.

Of course, that approach works fine for street parking, which is why there’s a conflict to begin at all.

We can’t have nice things because Philadelphia is too car-brained. Once you notice it, you realize nearly every major quality of life issue points back to our car dependence.

@ariadne very cool. Glad to see this getting coded. I have been very frustrated by the discourse around QTs. Lots of people posting about it but not a lot of people stepping up to the plate to do it.

Journalists will never stick around this app long term sadly unless it adds quote posting. We desperately need it to communicate effectively, build on each others ideas, and add crucial context to posts. These are things replies simply do not accomplish. Also quote posting or reblogging does not = harassment! Tumblr, for instance, has had the feature since the beginning. We need it here now too 🙏🏻

@pradyunsg I seem to recall having to build cryptography and extensions from source in the past few months for Apple M1.

@pradyunsg how's that going to work for packages that don't have wheels but are available on pip? I have a feeling most of my python packages are installed from source.

A tech company source used to make me turn off my phone before meetings because of concern that his employer would check to see if our phones were near each other. This was not a crazy concern it turns out! TikTok tried something like this to hunt down leakers: nytimes.com/2022/12/22/technol
