It’s last call for many of Philadelphia’s streeteries.
Philadelphia officials will crack down on streeteries, issuing citations to businesses that have not applied for licenses. Only 50 restaurants have applied.
@cunningpike deliverability. Mailgun or AWS SES has better reputation so more emails will get delivered. Running your own MTA requires managing your IP's reputation in a lot of blacklists, and sometimes having to rehabilitate it if your IP was used for spam before you got assigned it.
Exactly 14 years ago , Satoshi Nakamoto designed the most pathetic / inefficient system ever invented by humankind : the blockchain.
Today, it weights 60 000 tons, wastes constantly 10 gigawatts (more than Belgium or Chile) to process less than 7 transactions per second :
Less than a 33 bps modem from 1990.
This could be a joke if it didn't have such gigantic environmental impact, wasn't enabling billion dollars ransomware industry and was not crushing thousands of lives in the process.
@nat @skyfaller it may be coherent but it is still disgustingly cynical
@davekonopka watching McCarthy angle for years to make sure he's properly positioned when it finally becomes his party's turn to rule, and watch it all crumble to dust has been very satisfying

@nat @skyfaller the inquirer app also sucks ass. Fails to load complete articles but makes sure to load all the ads.
@nat @skyfaller they just ran another op ed from the Commonwealth foundation about how the current cash bail debate enables domestic violence.
Fuck me. I had started a trial of the inquirer and now I'm probably going to cancel
Thought Leaders: "Programming will be obsolete within 5 years. All business software will be generated by AIs"
Actual Businesses: "actually we're mainly still on-premise, running on Windows Server 2003 and VBScript ASP, but our two-year plan to migrate everything into a cloud kicked off in 2015 and we're making steady progress."
@clive I started writing more things down on my personal blog and can't shake the feeling that working in tech and internet style of writing has made my already bad writing style worse. I found it really hard to "fill" a paragraph or even a blog entry that wasn't just "hey I did something here's how it works."
The audience effect that you mentioned, I felt and it helped a little but I feel like maybe 140 character life has shrunk my brain a bit
@phillynews not again. God damn it
Finally blogged about using NetBox and Ansible
Was able to hear the fog horns of the ships on the Delaware early this morning. It was pretty cool
