I started my career using datatables.net/ back in 2009

A teammate just recommended we use it for a current project, and I felt very old when I realized it was the same one

@xgerman yes we should have given that solen land back to Cuba and had that fight. Where would the camp go, if not Cuba? Obviously it would have meant no more camp. Problem solved.

@b0rk I think you accumulate the knowledge over the years (even decades) by using the system and learning.

It's when you hit a difficult or complex task and have to really use more and more of the system, that's the things that you keep in memory and then start reaching for all the time (awk, sed, grep, xargs) because you start recognizing a pattern of problems where you can use the same approach.

Trump now putting people in Gitmo, the concentration camp that both Democrats and Republicans have kept open for 25 years.

Liberals will act outraged at this, of course, but they had 12 years - half the time that the camp was open, to do something about it. They didn't.

@MagentaRocks @briankrebs it's not really a package though. A package means they give you money and you leave now, and enjoy the time off. This is "you get to work from home until you leave"

What package?

@skyfaller my point is that ChatGPTs answers around the genocide in Gaza are not examined at all.

People think asking DeepSeek about Tianamen Square somehow is a huge own.

Don't ask ChatGPT if Palestinians deserve to be free

@kcarruthers This story as written is deceptive and omits key facts.

DID NOT reject repatriation of its citizens. It rejected the landing of military planes and the handling of its citizens in chains as criminals. The norm for repatriation is to deliver people unbound in civilian planes. Colombia upheld its duty to protect the dignity and bodies of its citizens, consistent with international treaties, which the US was violating.

English media is routinely distorting the facts.
